[reading names] >> i am not opposed to [inaudible] >> good afternoon, commissioners. i will not take up a lot of your time because you have heard a lot from both sides. i work with advocate for children and youth. i am urging you to vote down the proposition put forth before you. i think it is very clear that this project is not beneficial for the city of san francisco. i think when an agreement only calls for four rights -- 40 local hire jobs per year, that is not an agreement. that is kind of a joke, right? when a large entity agrees to invest only $2 million to support workforce development. that is not something to applaud. when an agreement does not take into account the job security of its existing employees, only a small select few are benefiting from this deal. an agreement that is beneficial should include local hire to at least 50% at all job levels. it should also include workforce development. an agreement that is beneficial would include protections to current employees.

president fong: thank you. next speaker, please. >> thank you, president pham and commissioners for your time. my name is natalie. i have been a resident of san francisco for 11.5 years. i support rebuilding cpmc. in 2008, i started working as a camp for cpmc. i was eventually hired by a general contractor to work on the project. without these projects, i may have never maintained employment brought the economic crisis. i have children that were born at st. luke's. as a member of that community, i was fortunate to have access to health care in close proximity to where i live. i as well as many residents and patience, would be pleased to see this hospital get a much- needed to upgrade. campus neighborhoods surrounding will benefit from the new facilities. all the while, cpmc has promised to continue providing exceptional health care to all its patients. the construction of these projects are critical because they will benefit the work force, families, the local economy, and our future generations to come. voting
